When you’re not spreading your jar of Lotus (or any other brand) speculoos or dipping your finger into the jar, try this upgraded French Toast recipe for breakfast this weekend!
Speculoos French Toast
(recipe serves 3)
6 slices wholemeal bread
Enough speculoos for your liking
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 teaspoons sugar
Butter for frying
- Assemble your sandwiches: Spread speculoos on 3 slices of bread and top each with a plain slice.
- Prepare the egg mixture: In a shallow dish, mix eggs, milk, cinnamon and sugar. Whisk well.
- Fry the sandwiches: Place a pan on low-medium heat, add about a teaspoon of butter on the pan and let it melt and bubble. Drench sandwich thoroughly in egg mixture. Fry till gloriously brown on each side. Serve.
Repeat with the other 2 sandwiches.
You may want to top it off with some icing sugar, or cut fruits 🙂
